To Special Moments

Set back nearly 1,000 feet from the road and approached over a winding blue stone driveway lined with maple trees, Shadowbrook stands as one of the country's most storied estates. Originally built in 1910 as a gentleman's country estate, the 25-room Georgian mansion was designed by architects Lewis Colt Albro & Harrie T. Lindeberg.

Today, its beamed ceilings, oak-paneled rooms, grand staircase and formal gardens continue to provide an atmosphere of refined elegance — a setting truly unlike any other for weddings and celebrations.

1910

The Georgian Mansion

Construction of the 25-room Colonial Revival residence was completed at a cost of more than $200,000 — complete with formal gardens, a 100-foot rose garden, and an English cutting garden.

Fred Thorngreen opened his restaurant, Shadow Brook Inn, transitioning the mansion into a modern restaurant, hotel and gathering place with elegant dining and hotel suites.

1953

Rod's Shadowbrook

Renamed Shadowbrook, the estate earned a stellar reputation for its elegant atmosphere and gourmet cuisine. The Oak Room was expanded with sweeping windows overlooking the gardens.
